changes made from draft 4 to draft 5

In draft 4 of our opening sequence we had new ways of improving by applying the following to our draft 5 :

  • have a wider variety of shots for the flashbacks
  • end the opening sequence with girl on floor crying
  • show audience what the girl is studying
  • have more shots of girl studying
  • show letter to make the information on it clearer
  • use better angles in order to make it easier for audience to read what texts say
  • if using a long text make sure timing is enough for audience to read it
  • make girl look more ill by the use of mise-en-scene
  • pay attention to framing
  • make sure that the person having the flashback is in the same position before and after the flashback to make it clear to the audience
  • show she is cold by having a blanket and warm pyjamas
  • have girl in different positions when studying to show passing of time
  • show clock to inform the audience of the time passing
  • show girl before having point of view shots so audience know that the point of view is from the girl
  • show titles of studios at the beginning of the opening sequence
  • make titles/credits longer
  • show girl kneeling on floor when reads letter
  • show slow motion of letter as girl drops it in disappointment
  • add more effects of lighting to flashbacks
  • change what girl and friend say during the conversation about the party
