planning for draft 2

Here is our planning for draft 2 presentation

changes made from draft 1 to draft 2 opening sequence

The story in draft 1 was good however seemed very basic and usual, our group thought of changing the genre but staying with the same idea would not work. We then decided to change the theme and concept to HIV. The location and characters we decided to keep the same. and the title changed from 'Teenage Love' (which was also very basic) to 'Caught up'
Here is research and planing for the new story.

Eye line match

My teacher also mentioned eye line matching which is used when for example we are filming a character and as they look at their phone, a shot of the phone is shown for the audience to get a clear understanding of where the character is looking. The following video shows an example of eye line matching.

Match on Action

Other filming techniques we revised today was match on action and the importance of having it in our opening sequence. Continuity in our construction is crucial to have a successful opening sequence and also for the audience to understand the plot of the story. Match on action consists of having a range of different shots to show one action. My teacher showed the following video as an example of Match on action.

180 degree rule

As revision my teacher went over some of the different film techniques involved in media. One of them is the 180 degree rule which can be used for example when filming two people talking. 180 degree rule is very important because if it is not followed the audience will end up confused about where each character is placed in the scene. To make it clearer my teacher showed us the following video.
